Intermediate School
The School Leader for Years 9 and 10 is Miss G Porter, who with the assistance of Year Managers Miss J Reid (Y9) and Mrs D Marsh (Y10) has the oversight of all aspects of academic progress and pastoral support for the intermediate years. The Learning Project Leader for the Intermediate School is Mrs K Pirie, who will provide guidance and direction for students, enabling them to make the right choices from a variety of combinations of subject routes.
During these two crucial years of secondary education, students at LWA will begin the process of gaining accreditation through public examinations. We know that students progress at different rates and believe that examinations should happen at the right stage for the individual, not just at the usual age. To this end, we provide a totally flexible curriculum which is designed to meet the need of each student, whether they are following all GCSE courses, all Btec/ Diploma routes, or a mixture of both.
