Becks (Year 10) recently won the Yorkshire judo championship in Goole.   

Competing in the 60kg under 15’s category, Becks’ victory qualified him to compete in the British championships in Sheffield last month.

More recently he competed in the Scottish Open International Championships and finished third, a tremendous achievement considering he was fighting under 19 entrants.

Becks moved to England in 2009 having been brought up in Dagestan (Russian Federation).  He loves competing in his chosen sport:

‘I have trained for nearly five years both in Russia and in England.  Judo is good for my health, my confidence and is a great way to meet people, which has helped me make new friends here at my new school.’
