LWA OPEN DAY SATURDAY 3 JULY, 9:30am - 12:00pm
Leeds West Academy will have an Open Day on Saturday 3rd July, 9:30am – 12:00pm.
This will be an opportunity to meet our students, staff and learn more about our exciting plans for the future, including our £30m new building due to open September 2011!
Since opening in September 2009, LWA has had a hugely successful first year - our GCSE results for the coming summer are forecast to be our best ever. This is due to a new and diverse curriculum, behaviour and rewards policies, our innovative coaching system, extra-curricular programme and a tremendously hard working and dedicated staff who aspire for our students to achieve their full potential.
Each department will be putting on example lessons so visitors can have a first-hand experience of the education we offer. Visitors will also be able to meet the members of the planning committee and architects for our new state-of-the–art building and view the latest plans and designs. The building on Intake Lane, easily accessed from Pudsey, Stanningley, Rodley, Farsley and Bramley, will have the latest ICT equipment and facilities to compliment our specialism in English with Performing Arts.
Furthermore a team of our students will be on hand to answer any questions visitors may have on student life here at LWA!
This event is ideal for any current Year 5 parents who are starting to prepare for the next phase in their child’s education, or anyone who is interested in seeing the tremendous achievements we have made over the last 12 months and how we will progress in the future.
