Sixth Form Open Evening 2011
This will be the first time prospective sixth form students, parents and carers can come and see our fabulous new facility and the educational opportunities we offer.
On the night visitors will be able to meet students and staff and listen to a talk by our Principal, Annette Hall, before having a guided tour around the building. The event is a great opportunity to find out more about our wide range of academic and vocational courses for 2012 entrants. Our new sixth form prospectus will also be available to take home.
At a cost of £30m our new home is the flagship school building in Leeds and a fantastic resource for not only LWA but the local community and the City of Leeds. Ecologically friendly and boasting innovative features throughout all subject areas, the building is an endorsement of our commitment to excellence for all our students. The new facilities include:
- £2m devoted to new technologies to support teaching and learning including 4 Mac suites and multiple mobile technologies
- Specially designed fully interactive classrooms to support group learning
- Top-spec gym and full size climbing wall complement the 4 court sports hall in the sports centre
- Sixth form common room area with IT facilities
- Staff and sixth form canteen
- Modern theatre facility to benefit our Performing Arts specialism
- Spacious dance studio featuring a state of the art sound system
- Music rooms bursting with the latest technology
- Modern, fully equipped Science labs and Technology areas and, including demo areas and external teaching balconies
