EEP
EEP sessions are a unique offer of the academy. Twice weekly, students will have the opportunity to follow an area of study, an activity, or a sports/special interest club which would not be available within the constraints of the timetable. Students are required to attend at least one session, but may of course go to both Monday and Wednesday sessions if they choose. Many aspects of the specialisms are reflected in the EEP, as well as an extensive programme of additional activities from martial arts to chess. Academy staff offer the majority of sessions, with some outside specialists from the local community working alongside us too. Students also have the opportunity to commit service to the local area by undertaking community service within EEP time.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme is a significant aspect of the EEP, giving students the chance to participate in outward bound activities at weekends and build their portfolio of evidence in other activities to contribute towards the achievement of Bronze Awards. Next year we will add Silver Award to the programme. We already have some Gold Award holders amongst the staff: who will be the first student to go to the palace to collect their Gold Award?
During the first two weeks of the academy year, students have the time to consider their options for EEP, then make their choice from the wide variety of activities available.
Here are just some of the sessions being run this term
