Performing Arts
The Performing Arts Area Team breathes life and soul into the Academy. It is where you can nurture your creative talents and be pushed to reach the highest standards in dance, drama or music whether as a performer, creator or in a supportive capacity for the performer. You will be successful in this area team as we have a fantastic record of high achievement in all of the three disciplines. It is also an area in which you can develop confidence to express your self as a unique individual with the support of highly trained teachers, some of whom have worked as professional dancers, actors or musicians themselves.
You will have many opportunities to develop new skills and perfect talents during curriculum time and out of it. Learn how to programme a lighting board or dance as part of a touring company; become a fantastic solo singer or get a band together; perform in cutting edge theatre, or learn from professional artists; travel to see live drama and dance productions or fly a trapeze. Whatever you do, throw yourself into lessons with this team and JUST HAVE FUN!!
Many famous actors, musicians and dancers have passed through this area team in the past. We have a huge range of courses to suit every learner from vocational (very practical) learning to GCSEs and A levels. Students can gain points at all three key stages; they are guided into courses which best suit their learning style and it is the expectation that all students will do very well. Performing Arts has the best track record of success in examinations and we do this by respecting every learner and every learner’s success.
