ICT and Systems
ICT has transformed the way we work in the 21st Century. The SOCQUIT report states that 60% of existing jobs and 90% of future jobs will require ICT skills. We believe that it is our responsibility to prepare all students at the school for this vibrant and exciting digital world. Students have the opportunity to develop key skills in a vocational setting. The programmes of study are designed to promote an awareness of the importance of ICT and the need to embrace and take advantage of the technology that we are all so reliant upon.
We are well equipped at the academy with an impressive suite of ICT rooms. The dedicated ICT rooms are spacious, enabling students to learn both off and on the computers. We run a variety of courses ranging from basic Skills for Business to advanced Computer Animation at level three. There is an opportunity for students to further their knowledge and understanding of Flash animation and Graphic manipulation as part of the EEP activities.
We believe that access to learning should not be restrictive and so have placed all our teaching resources onto the learning platform. Students have access to the site at any time so long as they have internet facilities. Our courses are specifically selected so students can gain pragmatic skills that can easily transfer into the work place. Our aim is to develop creative students with excellent ICT skills who can adjust to the demands of a thriving digital economy.
