Leeds West Academy

Year 7 Football Tournament

Trust-wide competition showcases new talent

As part of The White Rose Academies Trust seven-a-side Tournament for Year 7, Leeds East Academy this time hosted the popular football competition.

The tournament was played in a highly competitive but friendly environment with all teams equally performing well and showcasing some great football. Each team won 1 game each and lost 1 game, so the tightly contested tournament came down to goal difference with Leeds West Academy finishing first on +1, Leeds East Academy second place on 0 and Leeds City Academy third on -1.

Mr Nouch from Leeds West Academy said: "The boys again competed in a tournament and represented their Academies extremely well, demonstrating great sportsmanship throughout. The players are now forming a great relationship with each other, as their school's next generation football team. It was a great tournament and credit must go to all players involved as well as Mr Major for organising this event at Leeds East Academy. Thank you also to Mr Carrington at Leeds City Academy. This tournament is showcasing some incredible young footballing talent across our Trust of schools."
