The Reading List Foundation
Funding for study in Higher Education
Leeds West Academy has recently been nominated to receive a scholarship from The Reading List Foundation. The charity provides scholarships to students who have achieved academic excellence and is provided in the form of a £250 Blackwell's bookshop voucher, which is the average cost of an undergraduate's reading list in the first year.
The Academy has been informed that the scholarship has been kindly donated by either a member of the local community or an ex-student of the school. After some consideration, we have decided to award the scholarship to Leolie Howlett, who will be moving on to study Sports Psychology at Leeds Trinity University in September.
Ms McMahon said: "Leolie is a model student. Her work ethic is incredible and she shows immense determination. She is an asset to Leeds West Academy and will flourish in Higher Education."
Ms Collins adds: "Leolie is one of our most dedicated students. She is an excellent role model for both her peers and our younger students. Leolie has been a joy to work with and we hope that this scholarship will further aid her future success."
Leeds West Academy would like to thank our anonymous donor for their enormous generosity. The scholarship will help to relieve the financial demands of Higher Education and will greatly assist in Leolie's onward journey.
