Safer Schools

Leeds West Academy’s Safer Schools Police Officer and Bramley Ward Officer were on hand to speak with parents and young people at our recent Meet Your Coach Day.

PC Chambers and PC Carroll offered safety advice in regards to child sexual exploitation (CSE) and Cyber Crime, providing useful guides aimed at all ages, whilst extending awareness to local businesses.

PC Chambers said: "It is so important in this day and age that young people know how to keep themselves safe not just in the community but online. We encourage everyone to report any suspicious incidents to their safer schools officer or the police via 101."

Foundation School Leader Mr Bullock adds: “Summer is a wonderful time for our students and a welcome break from all their hard work throughout the year, but we want everyone to be aware of the risks so that the holidays can be enjoyed as safely as possible.”

Following Meet Your Coach Day, Parent Ms Stead commented: “I greatly appreciate the focused approach that our Safer Schools Officers provide, working with Leeds West Academy staff and students to ensure child safety is always at the forefront of school and community life.”
