Ever Wondered Why Roadshow
On 24th May, Michael Rolley from the Institute of Physics proved to Year 7 students that physics can be relevant and inspiring in an engaging new roadshow which stopped off at Leeds West Academy.
The Ever Wondered Why Roadshow covers a range of topics, from the size of the universe to optical illusions, and low-temperature physics to how CERN works – all with the aim of persuading pupils that physics is an important and valuable part of what they study at school and beyond. Students were on the edge of their seats through live, hands-on demonstrations with airzookas, smoke machines, and whizzy-whirly straws.
Mrs Foy, who leads the STEM programme for White Rose Academies Trust, said today: "This is an amazing demonstration that will delight our students whilst at the same time educating them about core physics principles, from the nature of what we are made of to the size of the universe."
Leeds West Academy thanks Michael Rolley for his extraordinary demonstration of physics in action.
