Developing Personal Wellbeing & Safety Awareness
The final CT Day of the academic year was held today. Students from several year groups actively engaged in numerous workshops and events, developing skills in equality, diversity, health and personal wellbeing.
Visiting lecturers and public speakers are an active ingredient of CT Days at the Academy and this term's range of events was no exception. Highlights included an upbeat samba session in the dance studio, a day's experience of prison life from Prison Me No Way, fire safety from the local Fire Brigade and an engaging session from the team at Human Utopia.
Principal Nicholas Hinchliffe said: "We thank all of the innovative and inspirational speakers who have worked within the Academy today. Students have been experiencing incredibly expressive projects, such as slam poetry and urban dance. We have also been exploring a whole range of technical activities within STEM, fortifying collaborative skills across several disciplines."
Foundation School Leader Ms Sandham added: "CT days provide an exciting opportunity for collaborative work amongst students and teachers, developing health and wellbeing skills for life. Students thoroughly enjoyed the diverse range of events and we thank our speakers for delivering such engaging workshops."
