A Level Results Day
Progress in A-Levels improves significantly!
Leeds West Academy are celebrating significant improvement in A-Level results, bucking the national trend. The measure of progress, known as Level 3 Value Added, shows that our students have made progress that is significantly above the national average.
Mr Wilcocks, Principal, said, “I am incredibly proud of our Year 13 students; they have endured significant change at Leeds West over recent years, but have shown tremendous resilience to achieve some fantastic individual results.”
Leeds West Academy is reporting significant improvements in the proportion of A-Level students achieving the highest grades (A*-B) and, against the national trend, an increase in A-Level students passing all three of their A-Level qualifications.
Mr Whitaker commented this morning: “I am delighted to celebrate with our students today, who have secured the results they have so tirelessly striven towards. I firmly believe that all the young people of Leeds are entitled to a first-class education offering exceptional, inspirational teaching. This year, The White Rose Academies Trust has secured that new standard of learning for students in our progressive schools. We know the future of Leeds is vibrant and exciting – but for our region to reach its full potential in future, it demands a serious investment in the young people who will, ultimately, drive forward and shape our city of tomorrow. Investing in every child is what we will continue to do as we improve our schools; empowering and supporting teachers, elevating our standards and inspiring our students to achieve and succeed as ambitious, collaborative and confident citizens. Today, we celebrate and commend our students’ achievements and look to the future with great excitement.”
