Kim Hird is a parent governor at Leeds West Academy. She was born in Leeds and attended the Academy in 1991, which was formerly known as Intake High. As such, her she has specifically close ties with the wider school community.
Kim worked for a local company specialising in mobile homes throughout Europe. This diverse role was within Foreign Communications, speaking French and Spanish to customers and holiday makers far and wide.
Kim is married with four sons and was a foster carer for five years, with experience in adoption and additional needs. She is now a self-employed registered childminder working in the Bramley community. Her passion is working with children, especially those vulnerable, and she hopes she can use personal experiences and knowledge to help every student at Leeds West Academy in her role as parent governor.
